Coralie and Hazel stare at me as if I'd be from planet vulcan.
"Who's Rachel?" "There's no Rachel working here nor do I know one that gets her books here..." "Who do you mean?", the girls ask confused and I start to wonder if this is even the right library I'm in, but they accepted the book so I guess it is.
"Well... Rachel! That girl with the red and blue hair, that's always wearing sunglasses because her normal glasses are broken. That girl that likes Jedward and leads their fanclub and went to their concert a few months ago in Mullingar!", I freeze when I realize how much I know about her even though I just saw her for a few minutes.
Hazel and Coralie look at each other and nod. "We know who you mean. But... her name's not Rachel...", Coralie explains. I raise my eyebrows: "It isn't? Then tell me her real name!" Hazel wants to answer but Coralie stops her. "No, we won't! If she didn't tell you her real name she'll have her reasons for that!" I stare at her and try to find out whether she's joking or not. She's totally serious.
"Yes. I guess you're right...", I reply and turn around to leave the library. "Cori, listen! Look at him! Did you see how sad he was when you told him you couldn't tell him her name? Can't we do anything?", I hear Hazel whisper and walk more slowly. "Well..."
"Hey you! Stop! We will help you!", Hazel suddenly says and I turn around. "We won't tell you her name but I guess you can ask her yourself..." "How?" "She just left. If you hurry a little you can still catch her up, I guess." I am still confused. "She took the back door!", she explains and finally clears everything up. "Thanks a lot!", I say as I leave and try to find that girl -whatever her name is.
Hazel and Coralie said she only left a few moments ago because she was in the little room behind the library to get ready. The street I'm on now is pretty small. I can't see her. There's just one person I see. A girl, but her hair is pretty light blond, but it still looks natural.
I walk a little faster to catch up with her. She has good big black nerd glasses on her nose. The nose in a book. The big earphones on her ears. "Excuse me!", I say but she doesn't seem to hear it. "Excuse me!", I repeat a little louder but she still doesn't hear me so I just stop right in front of her. She bumps into me.
"Sorry-", she mumbles annoyed and wants to continue walking but I don't let her. She looks up to me and freezes. "You work in that little library there, right?", I ask and point at the direction I'm coming from. She nods her head but still only stares into my eyes. That's the girl! I know it. "Now that I know that you're not Rachel... do you mind telling me what your real name?"
She takes a deep breath and hesitates: "Annika!"
